Metalex Manufacturing Inc. and L3 are just two of the many small businesses in Ohio who are working with large industry prime contractors to build NASA’s new launch system, scheduled to launch from the Kennedy Space Center in 2018 for the first time. They were honored recently at events in Cincinnati with NASA and industry leaders, along with Sen. Rob Portman.
“I have more than 100 minutes of riding rockets on parts that they built,” said former astronaut Brian Duffy at the event. “So it’s great being able to be here today to recognize an award for their outstanding contribution to NASA and actually the entire human space exploration.”
